Clare Birchall is Senior Lecturer in the Institute for North American Studies at King’s College London. She is the author of Knowledge Goes Pop: From Conspiracy Theory to Gossip (Berg, 2006) and co-editor of New Cultural Studies: Adventures in Theory (Edinburgh University Press, 2006). She is also the editor of a special issue of the journal Cultural Studies on the politics of secrecy (Routledge, 2007) and one for Theory, Culture & Society on transparency (Sage, 2011).
